Steven Furtick’s Biography, School & Early Life

Furtick was born Larry Stevens on 19 February 1980 in Moncks Corner, South Carolina. He was born to Faith Liles Furtick and Larry Stevens Furtick. Unfortunately, Furtick’s father, a former barbershop owner passed away on 5 June 2013 from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS). He has other siblings like Stephanie (born in 1975), and a younger brother, Matthew(born 1983). He completed Berkeley High School and then graduated from North Greenville University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications degree.

After reading a book titled “Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire”, Larry was motivated to be a minister. And so, he joined Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He graduated with a Master of Divinity degree. After school, Larry started work first as a music director at Christ Covenant Church in Shelby, North Carolina. He then moved to Charlotte, North Carolina, and started his own church called the “Elevation Church” in February 2006. Soon, he had a lot of congregation with a lot of other locations across the United States.
