Mario Batali is an American chef, writer and restaurateur who co-owned restaurants in New York City; Las Vegas; Los Angeles and Newport Beach, California; Boston; Singapore; Westport, Connecticut; and New Haven, Connecticut. Mario Batali Biography
Batali was born on 19 September 1960 in Seattle, Washington to Marilyn and Armandino Batali. Mario’s father is of Italian descent while his mother is of French-Canadian ancestry. He attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Mario was sous chef at the Four Seasons Biltmore at the age of 29. He also worked at the San Francisco restaurant, Stars with chef Jeremiah Tower. In 1998, Mario, Joe Bastianich and Lidia Bastianich formed the B&B Hospitality Group. Mario was also a co-host of the ABC daytime talk show “The Chew” from 2011 to 2017.

In 2012, Mario did not have it easy. First, a lawsuit was settled by Batali with his 117 members of the restaurant staff. It was alleged that the organization had taken their money for their personal gains. He later settled them with $5.25 million and the case was put to rest.
On 11 December 2017, four women accused Batali of sexual harassment and sexual assault. More women came forward as time elapses. Mario took a leave from his position at the management company Batali & Bastianich Hospitality Group. He was fired from “The Chew” show on 14 December 2017. Three of his restaurants in Las Vegas were shut down.
