Killian Hayes the French playmaker’s Scouting report

French playmaker Killian Hayes is an awesome talent known for his ability to assist and play make games for his side the Detroit Pistons.

In his short while in the NBA I have noticed he likes to craft more in offense and does that a lot more than he scores.

Killian Deron Antron Hayes is his full name and the young baller was born 27th July, 2001 in Lakeland, Florida.

Due to his father’s profession, he grew up in France. Hayes has been a member of French club Cholet since he was a child.

Killian speaks both English and French fluently.

Killlian is American through his dad and French through his mum, his parents met in Cholet when his dad played basketball professionally there at the time.

Career

At the youth level, he played for Cholet Basket, his father’s former team.

Despite his desire to play high school and collegiate basketball in the United States, he stayed in France on his father’s recommendation, who came from the American basketball system.

Hayes made his debut with the Cholet senior team on 21 October 2017 at 16 years, two months and 24 days of age.

He was the second-youngest participant in the Basketball Without Borders camp during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles in February 2018.

Hayes’ greatest performance of the season came in the Pro A season finale on 15 May 2018, when he scored 12 points and added six assists in a win against Le Mans.

Throughout his nine games, he averaged 2.2 points and 1.2 assists in 9.1 minutes per game.
After considering several other European teams, he signed a three-year professional contract with Cholet prior to the 2018–19 season.

In his first outing of the season, Hayes scored 12 points in a loss against Strasbourg on September 22, 2018, after missing three weeks due to back and toe issues.

After his side finished bottom in their league early in the season, head coach Régis Boissié was fired and replaced by Erman Kunter.

Hayes first believed he had “made a major mistake by staying in Europe” because of Cholet’s troubles.

He participated in the Basketball Without Borders camp for the second time at the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend in Charlotte, North Carolina in February.

Hayes had a season-high 17 points, five rebounds, and five steals in a loss to Élan Chalon on May 30, 2019.

Hayes averaged 7.1 points and 3.1 assists per game in 34 games.

He will go on to sign a three-year contract with ratiopharm Ulm of the Basketball Bundesliga (BBL), the top league in Germany, and the EuroCup.

He became the second-youngest player to ever register a double-double in the EuroCup, the youngest being Ricky Rubio.

Hayes returned to his family in Lakeland when the BBL was suspended on March 8 because to the COVID-19 pandemic.

He declared for the 2020 NBA draft on March 27.

Hayes did not participate in the BBL Final Tournament, which took place in June of that year.

Through 33 combined games in the EuroCup, BBL, and BBL-Pokal, he averaged 11.6 points, 5.4 assists, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game.

Scouting report of Killian Hayes

A big, athletic point guard who was born in Florida, grew up in France and has been playing in Germany. Now the 6-5 lefty projects as a possible lottery pick with some scouts seeing him as a top 3 pick.

Killian fits the mold of a modern point guard who can not only run the pick and roll and make all the passes but he can get his own shot off the dribble and is becoming a threat from 3pt land.

Expect to see Killian come off the board in the mid to late lottery.
