Khris Middleton is an American basketball player with the Milwaukee Bucks currently.

He was born on 12th August, 1991 in Charleston, South Carolina, USA.

In the 2012 NBA Draft class he was picked by the Detroit Pistons as the 39th overall.

On March 13, 2020, Middleton said he would match Giannis Antetokounmpo $100,000 donation to the staff of the Fiserv Forum who were unable to work during the suspension of the 2019–20 NBA season because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It was announced that he was joining the ownership group of the Brisbane Bullets, a professional basketball team in Australia.

 



Early Life

He is from a Christian home and He also has one older sister named Brittney, and his cousin, Josh Powell, has played in the NBA at some point with the Lakers.

 


Career

Middleton attended Porter-Gaud School and played basketball for the Cyclones.

ESPN also ranked him the 64th best prospect in the Class of 2009, and noted he was the best shooter at his position.

After many offers he chose Texas A&M as his next destination and signed with the Aggies on May 30, 2008.

He helped the Aggies finish with a record of 24–10.

The Detroit Pistons selected Middleton with the 39th overall pick in the 2012 NBA draft.

He signed his rookie scale contract with the Pistons on August 15, 2012.

He was sent to the NBA Development League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants on December 12, 2012. (known now as the G League). He was recalled by the Pistons a week later.

Aftermath of his terrible start of his NBA career, Middleton was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on July 31, 2013, along with Brandon Knight and Viacheslav Kravtsov, for guard Brandon Jennings.

In contrast to his limited appearances in 2012–13, Middleton started 64 games and averaged 12.1 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.0 steals in 30.0 minutes per game in 2013–14.

Middleton was selected an Eastern Conference All-Star reserve on January 31, 2019, marking his first All-Star selection. He was the first G League player to be named to the All-Star team.

Khris has been a part of the Bucks since 2013 and along with co-star Giannis they secured the Bucks first NBA title in 50 years.

This feat also gave Middleton his first championship ring.

The same summer, he won a gold medal for basketball at the Olympics with team USA.

On February 3, it was announced that Middleton had been selected as an All-Star for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game.



Contract

The forward earned himself another raise ahead of the 2019-20 campaign and inked a five-year, $177.5 million contract.
