Before and during high school he was a hot prospect for colleges and coaches, getting all the accolades and all.
He lived up to expectations and finally got a Scholarship at the University of Memphis.
In the South Region, Memphis was seeded first.
Rose received high accolades for his enhanced defensive attention in the Elite Eight, where he chased Texas Longhorn Guard D. J. Augustin into a low-percentage game.
Memphis concluded the season 38–2. Rose was named to the All-Final Four team.
Rose stated on April 15 that he would forego his last three seasons at Memphis and enter the 2008 NBA Draft.
Rose was selected with the first overall pick in the 2008 draft by the Chicago Bulls and played there from 2008-2016.
He also became the first draftee to score 10 points or more in his first 10 games since Michael Jordan.
On January 28, 2010, Rose was elected to his first career All-Star Game as a reserve for the Eastern Conference, making him the first Bulls player to be selected since Michael Jordan in 1998.

On June 22, 2016, Rose was traded, along with Justin Holiday and a 2017 second-round draft pick, to the New York Knicks in exchange for future teammate José Calderon, Jerian Grant and Robin Lopez.
He was ruled out for the rest of the season after tearing the meniscus in his left knee, necessitating a fourth round of knee surgery for Rose in his nine-year career.
Signing with the Cavs, he missed more than two months of play.
Rose was acquired by the Jazz and signed by the Timberwolves.
