Damian  Jones (born June 30, 1995) is an NBA basketball player for the Sacramento Kings in the United States.

He is a two-time NBA champion, having won both in 2017 and 2018 with Golden State.

He was a member of the Vanderbilt Commodores basketball team in college.
The Golden State Warriors selected Jones with the 30th overall pick in the first round of the 2016 NBA draft.

He is the son of David and Dana Jones, he has two brothers, Darian and Darryl.
Jones majored in engineering science at Vanderbilt.



Career

As a senior, Jones averaged 15.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.0 blocks, and 2.0 assists at Scotlandville Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.


Rivals.com classified him as a four-star recruit who has committed to Vanderbilt University.


Jones averaged 13.3 points, 6.4 rebounds, 1.69 blocks, and 27.2 minutes per game in 99 games for Vanderbilt, earning first-team All-SEC accolades as a sophomore and junior.


Jones shot 56.6 percent from the field throughout his undergraduate career, which ranks third all-time at Vanderbilt, and finished second all-time in blocks (167).


Jones averaged 13.9 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.64 blocks in 33 games as a junior in 2015–16, helping Vanderbilt to its first NCAA Tournament participation since 2011–12.


Jones declared for the NBA draft on April 14, 2016, foregoing his last year of college eligibility.


Jones tore his pectoral muscle in his right arm while working out with the Orlando Magic in the weeks leading up to the draft, necessitating surgery.


Despite this, the Golden State Warriors selected Jones with the 30th overall choice in the 2016 NBA draft.


Jones earned his first NBA points in a 126–111 win over the Charlotte Hornets on February 1, 2017, in his first game for the Warriors at Oracle Arena.


During the 2016–17 season, he appeared in 10 regular-season games and four playoff games.


After defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 4–1 in the NBA Finals, the Warriors were proclaimed champions in 2017.


Jones played in 15 regular-season games and four playoff games for the Warriors in 2017–18, helping them to their second consecutive NBA Finals appearance.


He became the starting center for the Warriors in 2018–19, starting in 22 of the Warriors’ first 24 games.


In a 111–102 loss against the Detroit Pistons, he tore his left pectoral muscle.


After undergoing surgery to repair the muscle, he was initially ruled out for the season.


During the Western Conference Finals, he returned to action.


The Warriors went on to the 2019 NBA Finals, where they were defeated in six games by the Toronto Raptors.


Jones was dealt to the Atlanta Hawks on July 8, 2019, along with a 2026 second-round pick, for Omari Spellman.


On November 30, 2020, Jones signed a 2-year deal with the Phoenix Suns.


In 14 games, he averaged 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds per game. On February 23, 2021, Jones was waived by the Suns.


Jones signed a 10-day deal with the Los Angeles Lakers on February 26, 2021.


The Lakers signed him to a second 10-day contract on March 11.


Jones signed a 10-day contract with the Sacramento Kings on April 7, 2021, and a second one ten days later.


After participating in six games, including two starts, he signed a multi-year deal with the Kings on April 28.
