Benjamin David Simmons is simply known as Ben Simmons is an Australian Basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets and the Australian Basketball Team.
Early Life
Born July 20, 1996 in Melbourne, Australia to Dave (an African-American) and Julie (a white Australian) he was raised alongside 5 siblings.
At age 10, Ben began playing basketball for the Knox Raiders, along with that he played the Australian rule football at junior level.
He had to choose one sport as he loved them both. He picked basketball as his focus.
He played basketball for Box Hill Senior Secondary College at the 2011 Aussie Schools Championships and was chosen to represent Australia at the 2012 FIBA under 17 world championship despite being only 15.
Contract
As of now, his known contract is with his former employers the Philadelphia 76ers through 2024-25 season after signing a 5 year deal worth $177.2 million in 2019. His contract with the Nets is not known yet.
